Self Tape Studio

The Self-Tape Studio is here! Complete with teleprompter and camera, easy-to-use lighting presets, ring light, and much more, this state-of-the-art studio is the ideal place to get the perfect take. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to use the equipment; the studio includes a simple instruction booklet and how-to video.

How to use the studio

Our goal is to eliminate cost barriers for our artists to use these high-level creation spaces. To maintain accessible rates, our studio is completely self-serve/DIY. This DIY self-tape room is the perfect playground to get a killer take. Bring a reader and your device, or utilize our state-of-the-art filming camera and teleprompter, and nail your self-tape every time in the B Street Self-Tape Studio.

Utilise the SONY Alpha A6-100 Camera with Rode Mic to get the highest quality video, or simply plug in your smartphone to the smartphone MOVO mic and Ring Light and begin your take. When you’ve finished shooting, use the provided laptop with WeTransfer to receive your files instantly.

TAPA MEMBER and NON-MEMBER BASE RATE: $20 / hour

How to Book

TAPA MEMBERS: Click the link above to login to the booking portal on the website where you can identify your date of choice, your desired hours, and even pay in advance using Stripe.

Once booked, you will receive an automatic reply from our Operations Manager containing the studio manual and instruction video, as well as an access code.

NON-TAPA MEMBERS: Click the link above and scroll down to spaces to view the features of The DIY Self-Tape Studio. You can email katieg@tapa.ca to request a time slot, and pay in-person after your session.
